Should they stay behind or leave for big cities? Should they transform or simply follow? Many people actually became infatuated with the city but still be influenced by nostalgia. This film puts the characters between the beautiful countryside and the cruel reality, which is both aesthetic and realistic. With reproduction of the attachment, self-challenge and future pursuance these Chaoshan fishers have, the film portrayed different psychological selections they face in real life.
